Paxar Showcases Latest RFID Solutions for Wal-Mart Vendors at the National Retail Federation Show

WHITE PLAINS, NY, January 9, 2004--Paxar Corporation (NYSE: PXR), a global leader providing bar code and identification technologies for the retail supply chain and the supplier of Monarch Ò brand products and services, is demonstrating its innovative suite of RFID solutions designed for Wal-Mart suppliers at the National Retail Federation (NRF) Convention and Expo, January 11-14, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Paxar demonstrated its latest Monarch Ò 9855 Ô RFID bar code printer/encoder and Wal-Mart compliant Monarch Ò RFID labels at the recent EPCglobal user meeting and product fair in Arkansas. Paxar’s demonstration included a “live” testing of the RFID chip, encoding of the label, printing of the bar code and human readable data, and verification that the information was properly “written” to the tag. The Monarch Ò RFID solution includes AC powered as well as mobile cart enabled products, providing the RFID user with the most flexibility and productivity available.
